BB&T extends Official Partnership

Banking company continues AJGA support

BRASELTON, Ga. – The American Junior Golf Association announced BB&T has extended its Official Partnership through 2021.

BB&T, one of the largest financial services holding companies in the United States, will continue its support as an Official Partner and the Presenting Sponsor of the Wyndham Invitational. Involved as a Tournament Partner since 2011, BB&T’s continued support will help 84 of the world’s best young men compete at Sedgefield Country Club’s Donald Ross Course, home of the PGA TOUR’s Wyndham Championship.

“The AJGA is extremely excited to extend its partnership with BB&T,” said AJGA Chief Business Officer Jason Etzen. “The AJGA and BB&T share the same passion and goals of developing competitive junior golfers, while developing their leadership and character skills on and off the course.”

Since 2002, more than 40 Wyndham Invitational presented by BB&T alumni have also made their way to the PGA TOUR. Past champions include TOUR pros Brian Harman (2003, 2004) and 2017 FedEx Cup Champion Justin Thomas (2009). Other tournament alumni include Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, Patrick Reed, Webb Simpson, Billy Horschel, Harris English, Chris Kirk and Danny Lee.

“We are honored and thrilled to continue our strong partnership with the Wyndham Invitational,” said Cantey Alexander, BB&T Triad Regional President. “While this premier event creates commerce and connects our communities, it ultimately champions young men and provides them the opportunity to develop abilities they will use for the rest of their lives.”
