Karl Vilips of (Australia) Wesley Chapel, Florida, brought home a gold medal at the Summer Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In the final round of the Youth Men’s Individual Stroke Play, Vilips holed six birdies, including back-to-back birdies on his final two holes, to finish the tournament at 4-under-par 206. As an AJGA member, Vilips has five tournament titles, and he also a two-time Rolex Junior All-American. He is verbally committed to Stanford University and No. 4 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.

Akshay Bhatia of Wake Forest, North Carolina, and Lucy Li of Redwood Shores, California, earned silver medals in the Youth Olympics Mixed Team Stroke Play golf competition at the Summer Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In the final round, the pair combined to shoot 3-under-par 137 to move into second place and secure the silver medal. Bhatia, who also brought home a silver medal in the men’s individual competition, has five AJGA tournament titles since 2016 to go along with back-to-back wins at the Boys Junior PGA Championship in 2017 and 2018. Li, an AJGA member since 2013, has earned three AJGA Invitational victories.

David Ford of Peachtree Corners, Georgia, picked up his second Southeastern Golf Junior Tour win of 2018 at the UGA Invitational presented by AutoTrader. In the final round, Ford fired a 5-under-par 66 to take the tournament by three strokes. In one year of AJGA competition, Ford has notched three top-10 finishes, including a tournament title at the AJGA Junior All-Star at Butte Creek.

Sara Im of Duluth, Georgia, grabbed her third Southeastern Golf Junior Tour victory of 2018 after winning the UGA Invitational presented by AutoTrader. The 13-year-old took the victory in wire-to-wire fashion, as she holed five birdies over the course of the tournament. In five AJGA events in 2018, Im has earned two top-6 finishes, including a career-best T5 at the E-Z-GO Vaughn Taylor Championship.
