Champions Report: March 22

Faith Low and Luke Sample earned their first AJGA wins at the AJGA Junior All-Star at Windsor.
Ka Yee Kwok and Parker Claxton earned Medalist honors at the AJGA Preview at Sandestin (Ages 12-15)

Calynne Rosholt of Cedar Park, Texas, had no easy path to the winner’s circle in the Girls Division. After the conclusion of 54-holes there were five girls tied for first place. In the end, Rosholt came out victorious after draining a 10-foot birdie putt on the fourth playoff hole. The Arizona State University verbal commit shot a final round even-par 72, capping off a tournament total of 2-over-par 218. This is her second career AJGA win. Yuki Moriyama of (Japan) Las Vegas, Nevada, won in the Boys Division by two strokes after carding a 4-under-par 212 for the tournament. Moriyama led or held part of the lead after each round and captured his first career AJGA victory. He is verbally committed to the University of Oregon.

AJGA Junior All-Star at Windsor

Faith Low of Foster City, California, won her first AJGA tournament after carding a tournament-total 3-over-par 147. She began the final round eight strokes back of the lead but a final round of 2-under-par 70 earned her the victory. The 14-year-old’s previous best finish was runner-up at the 2017 AJGA Preview at La Purisima presented by Explore Lompoc. Luke Sample of New York, won in the Boys Division by two strokes after rounds of 3-under-par 69 and even-par 72. The Duke University verbal commit also picked up his first AJGA win.

AJGA Preview at Sandestin (Ages 12-15)

Ka Yee Kwok of (Hong Kong) Tianjin, China, finished first in the Girls Division with a tournament total of even-par 144. Kwok earned the top finish playing in her first career AJGA tournament. The 15-year-old carded a 1-over-par 73 in the first round and a 1-under-par in the final round to win by six strokes. In the Boys Division, Parker Claxton of Claxton, Georgia, came from behind to win the Boys Division after shooting an even-par 72 in the final round with a tournament total of 4-over-par 148. Claxton’s final round matched the lowest round of the day. This was Claxton’s first AJGA tournament.

AJGA Preview at Bentwater (Ages 12-15)

Spencer Gray of Houston, finished the final round with a two-day tournament total of 4-over-par 148 to medal in the Boys Division. Gray was tied for third place heading into Sunday’s final round. He had 11 pars and three birdies to help him clinch the trophy. Anna Heck of Memphis, Tennessee, clinched Co-Medalist honors in the Girls Division with a tournament total of 7-over-par 151. Heck had a low final-round score of 1-over-par 73 along with 13 pars and two birdies to seal the deal. Jasmine Dae Ryeong Youn of Guatemala, Guatemala, also earned Co-Medalist honors in the Girls Division. Youn’s final round included 11 pars and three birdies and for a score of 4-over-par 76. In her first AJGA event, Youn finished with a tournament total of 7-over-par 151.
