2017 Kicks Off in Arizona and Florida

The 2017 calendar kicks off in January with tournaments in Arizona and Florida. The events provide more than 150 playing opportunities for juniors throughout the country.

Tathata Golf Junior All-Star Championship

After joining the AJGA as a partner of the ACDS Junior All-Star Series, Tathata Golf will host the Tathata Golf Junior All-Star Championship at El Conquistador Golf & Tennis in Oro Valley, Arizona. Tathata Golf is also the preferred Golf Training Program of the AJGA. Its curriculum combines the timeless teachings of martial arts and the movements of some of the world’s greatest golfers and athletes of all-time to create a complete mind, body and swing program.

The Tathata Golf Junior All-Star Championship kicks off the season’s Road to Reynolds campaign as a part of the ACDS Junior All-Star Series, a year-long push toward the AJGA Junior All-Star Invitational in October at Reynolds Lake Oconee in south Georgia. The ACDS Junior All-Star Series is a collection of events specifically designed for boys and girls ages 12-15. The competition provides an opportunity for younger members to develop their skills and build Performance Based Entry status to earn entry into Open tournaments.

The field this week includes two former AJGA champions, a current Rolex Junior All-American and 13 players from the state of Arizona.

Foley Performance Academy @ EaglesDream Junior Championship

Sean Foley has teamed up with the EaglesDream Golf Academy to form the Foley Performance Academy @ EaglesDream and host the Foley Performance Academy @ EaglesDream Junior Championship for the third year in a row at Timacuan Golf & Country Club in Lake Mary, Florida. Sean Foley is a golf instructor that has worked with some of the top PGA TOUR players and is ranked No. 11 on Golf Digest’s 2015-16 50 best teachers voted on by peers. Foley Performance Academy @ EaglesDream will also host the Foley Performance Academy @ EaglesDream Junior All-Star, July 24-27.

Twenty-four college-bound players will compete in this week’s Open event, along with 36 Floridians. Eight players are also in the hunt for their second AJGA title. Past champs of the event include Eugene Hong of Orlando, Florida, No. 4 in the AJGA Rankings, and Abbey Carlson of Lake Mary, Florida, a freshman at Vanderbilt University.
