Rickie Fowler started the day with a four-stroke lead and never looked back during the final round of The Honda Classic to earn his fourth PGA TOUR victory on Feb. 26.
Fowler sank two long birdie putts on Nos. 12 and 13 to effectively shut the door on the competition at PGA National Resort & Spa’s Champion Course. The AJGA has hosted the Polo Golf Junior Classic at the same venue since 2009.
From 2004-06, Fowler competed in 13 AJGA events, winning two and claiming two Rolex Junior All-America honors. Fowler went on to compete at Oklahoma State where he won The Ben Hogan Award in 2008 as the nation’s top male collegiate golfer. Fowler is also an ambassador for the AJGA’s Leadership Links program and plays a round of golf with the top earners at the end of the year.
