ACE Grant Cup Raises $100,000

For the second consecutive year, the ACE Grant Cup surpassed the $100,000 threshold in fundraising.
The ACE Grant Cup is an annual event to help to raise money for the ACE Grant. The Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant provides financial assistance to young men and women who aspire to earn a college golf scholarship through competitive junior golf. The financial reimbursement program has granted more than 1,600 grants and reimbursed more than $3.2 million since 2003.
The 2017 ACE Grant Cup, held at Medalist Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Florida, on April 24, featured 18 foursomes, including five Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Grant recipients. After the event, a reception featured a speech from Hannah Foster of Hobe Sound, where she detailed her connection with golf and the importance of the ACE Grant in her life.
“The ACE Grant has made it possible for me to pursue my dreams and substantially lessen the financial burden on my parents,” Foster said. “It is your generosity today that is making this possible, and it has inspired me to work harder and become the best person I can be.”
Thomas Humphrey, Chairman of the AJGA Foundation Board, and Kenneth Kennerly, Director of the AJGA Foundation Board, presented a check to the ACE Grant for $100,000 based on the contribution of participants in the event.
The third annual ACE Grant Cup is set to be announced sometime later this year. Last year's event at Old Sandwich Golf Club in Plymouth, Massachusetts, raised more than $100,000.
