Three Things for Saturday at #AJGAThunderbird

  • 2016 champion Agustina Zeballos of Buenos Aires, Argentina, returns to the event to defend her title. The only player to win back-to-back in Thunderbird International Junior history was Yueer Cindy Fend in 2009 and 2010. Zeballos celebrated her 16th birthday at Friday’s Welcome Dinner and tees off No. 10 at 8:05 a.m. with Hailey Jones of Dallas, Texas, and Isabella Fierro of Campeche, Mexico.
  • Many Junior Presidents Cup International Team hopefuls will make their AJGA debuts at the Thunderbird International Junior. The players below are currently ranked within the top-25 of the Junior Presidents Cup International Standings.
    • 5 - Josh Armstrong, Canberra, Australia
    • 13 - Kshitij Naveed Kaul, Faridabad, India
    • 15 - Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira, Buenos Aires, Argentina
    • 17 - Agustin Errázuriz of Santiago, Chile

Linnér made her AJGA debut at the ANNIKA Invitational earlier this year where she set a tournament and course record of 8-under-par 64 to finish T2. Hansen is competing in her first AJGA event.
