TOUR Highlights: July 31

Web.com Tour

History was made on Sunday at the Digital Ally Open as Zecheng (Marty) Dou became the first Chinese player to earn a PGA TOUR card and win a Web.com Tour event. Spurred by a third-round 10-under-par 61, Dou finished at 25-under-par 259 for the tournament, three strokes clear of the runner-up. 

Dou made waves as an amateur during his four-year AJGA career. He finished runner-up in his first AJGA event and went on to compete in 10 AJGA Invitationals. He tallied eight top-10 finishes throughout his career and was named a Rolex Junior All-American in 2011 and 2012.

Symetra Tour

With her second win in three weeks, Erynne Lee jumped to third on the money list after a 12-under-par 204 at the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship.

Lee competed in 36 AJGA events from 2005-11, winning three and finishing top-10 in 20 tournaments. The three-time Rolex Junior All-American went on to compete at UCLA.

PGA TOUR

After posting rounds of 68-66-65-68 (21-under-par 267), Charley Hoffman fell in a playoff to Jhonattan Vegas to finish as the runner-up for the second time this season at the RBC Canadian Open.

Hoffman competed in 11 AJGA events from 1993-95, including the Rolex Tournament of Champions and the ClubCorp Mission Hills Desert Junior.

LPGA Tour

Cristie Kerr and Carlota Ciganda led AJGA alumnae at the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open. Kerr and Ciganda tied for fourth after notching 4-under-par 284s.

Ciganda competed for the European Team in the 2005 PING Junior Solheim Cup, while Kerr’s four-year AJGA career culminated with being named Rolex Junior Player of the Year in 1995.
