U.S. Girls’ Junior

After defeating opponent Elizabeth Moon on the 19th hole in the semifinals, Erica Shepherd went on to secure a 3 and 2 victory in the 36-hole final over close friend and Wyndham Cup teammate Jennifer Chang. With a tap-in par on No. 16 (the 34th hole of competition), Shepherd topped her East teammate to win the 69th U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship.

LJT Texas State Junior Championship

After tying an AJGA 54-hole record two weeks ago, Jansen Smith won the Legends Junior Tour’s Texas State Junior Championship in incredible fashion. Sharing the lead going into the final hole, Smith holed out for eagle to win with what has been deemed “the shot heard around Horseshoe Bay” on July 26.

Sadie Englemann went wire-to-wire to win the Girls Division on July 28 on the Slick Rock Course. She held off a charge from two-time defending champion Hailey Jones to win by one stroke at 15-under-par 201. The win marked Englemann’s second win this year at Horseshoe Bay Resort after winning the Bishops Gate Golf Academy Junior at Horseshoe Bay on the Apple Rock course.

U.S. Kids Golf Teen World Championship

George Duangmanee topped the Boys 15-18 Division in a playoff after finishing at 5-over-par 221 at Pinehurst No. 2. The 15-year-old won the 2015 Boys 12-13 Age Division Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals and has competed in five AJGA tournaments.
