Ghim Maintains Lead Heading into Final Round at McArthur Towel & Sports Future Legends
Weaver looks to win her first event of the 2011 season at The Legend at Bristlecone

HARTLAND, Wis.  For the second consecutive day both the boys and girls leaders remain the same as Doug Ghim of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Lindsey Weaver of Scottsdale, Ariz., sit atop their respective leaderboards. Ghim will enter Friday's final round with a two-stroke lead, after firing a second round even-par 71. While in the Girls Division, Weaver owns a three stroke lead after carding an even-par 71.

The McArthur Towel & Sports Future Legends is a 54-hole stroke play event conducted by the American Junior Golf Association at The Legend at Bristlecone in Hartland, Wis. The tournament field consists of 96 players from 13 states, Taiwan, South Korea, Canada, Thailand and China. The Boys Division is playing the par-71 course at 6,804 yards and the Girls Division is playing at 6,064 yards.

Ghim, a member of the class of 2014, says that playing in a group with last year's champion Jonathan Garrick had him feeling the heat early. Ghim's solid second round included two birdies, and an even-par on both the front nine and the back nine.

Ghim currently sits at 3-under-par 139 after the tournament's first two days, as he will look to go wire-to-wire in Friday's final round.

I am trying to win the putter head cover, Ghim said. If I am able to do that then I will put myself in a great position to win.

Voramate Aussarassakorn of Bangkok, Thailand sits in second place with a 1-under-par 141. John Langhoff of Pewaukee, Wis., Jonathan Garrick of Atherton, Calif., and Ian Mankoff of Lake Forest, Ill., are all tied for third with tournament totals of 1-over-par 143.

In the Girls Division, Weaver, whose even-par round of 71 round was highlighted by three birdies, says that her play has improved over the last week.

I wasn't playing very well before this event. For the past week I've had a problem with hooking my irons. I have got that problem somewhat fixed but I can still improve on that, Weaver said.

Weaver, who has had second and third place finishes already this summer, is looking for her first AJGA victory of the 2011 season.

I'm just going to play my own game and take it one shot at a time, Weaver said of her plan going into tomorrow's final round.

Deanna Song of Granger, Ind., is currently sitting in second place after shooting a 2-over-par 73, for a 1-over-par 143 tournament total. In third place, with a 2-over-par 144 tournament total, is Jacqueline Chulya of Bangkok, Thailand.
