Every year, the AJGA challenges the academic and athletic efforts of its members through the Transamerica Scholastic Junior All-America Team. Twelve boys and 12 girls in their junior or senior year in high school receive this honor each year. At the end of the 2019 summer, 2020/2021 grad year boys with a top-10 finish and 2020/2021 grad year girls with a top-five finish in AJGA Open and Invitational events will be invited to apply for the Transamerica Scholastic Junior All-America Team. The rewards associated with being selected for this team include earning an invitation to the Rolex Tournament of Champions (November 2019) along with the elevated exposure of each team member's academic standing, a vital element in college golf recruiting. The Transamerica Scholastic Junior All-America Team selections are based on the following criteria in order of importance:
High school students aspiring to be eligible for this award, should consider taking the SAT or ACT during the sophomore year. If you take any AP classes, consider also taking the corresponding standardized AP subject tests. Leadership and service within your school and community are also important criteria.
