Newsmakers (June 27): Pressel Captures North and South Women's Amateur Championship Morgan Pressel of Boca Raton, Fla., defeated Lisa Ferrero, a senior at the University of Texas and former Rolex Tournament of Champions winner, 1-Up at the North and South Women’s Amateur Championship at Pinehurst No. 2. Paula Creamer continued to make an impression on the LPGA Tour, finishing 13th at the Wegmans Rochester International Presented by Lincoln Mercury. A week ago Creamer tied for second at the ShopRite LPGA Classic. Angela Park of Torrance, Calif., and In-Bee Park of Eustis, Fla., both advanced to the semifinals of the Women's Amateur Public Links Championship before falling to Michelle Wie and Ya-Ni Tseng, respectively. Tseng went on to win 1-Up over Wie in the final. |
