(Aug. 16): Park Captures U.S. Women's Amateur
Jane
Park of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., defeated Amanda
McCurdy of El Diablo, Ark., 2-up in the 36-hole
final Sunday, Aug. 15, to
win the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship
at The Kahkwa Club in Erie, Pa.
Park,
a three-time Rolex Junior All-American, was one
of several AJGA players to make deep in-roads
into this year's championship, ultimately outlasting
fellow AJGA players like Paula Creamer, Julieta
Granada, and Morgan Pressel. Park won the McDonald's
Betsy Rawls Girls Championship last year, overcoming
many of the same AJGA players participating in
this year's U.S. Women's Amateur. |
