(August 23): Moore Triumphs Over List in All-AJGA
Final at U.S. Amateur

Moore of Puyallup, Wash., defeated Luke List of
Ringgold, Ga., both AJGA alums, 2
up Sunday to capture the U.S. Amateur Championship
at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, N.Y.
List,
a Rolex Junior All-American in 2002 and 2003,
never trailed during the first 34 holes of the
the 36-hole final, at one point leading Moore
4 up. Moore overcame List by winning the last
four holes, three of them with birdies to cap
an incredible summer of success.
In
addition to his win at the U.S. Amateur, Moore
has won the 2004 NCAA Division I championship,
the U.S. Amateur Public Links and the Western
Amateur.
Moore
won the the Thunderbird International Junior in
2001 and was a Rolex Junior All-American from
1999-2001.
AJGA
alum Stewart Cink captured
his second title of 2004 with a win at the
World Golf Championships-NEC Invitational. On
the LPGA Tour, Rolex Junior Player of the Year
Paula Creamer of Pleasanton, Calif., finished
18th at the Wendy's
Championship for Children. |
