Burgett H. Mooney, Jr. Rome Classic
"When I birdied Nos. 4 and 5, it got me going and I just kept
making pars," said Noah West, who posted a 3-under-par 68. "The key
part was my putting today."
“I played very consistent today. I was straight off the tee and I
birdied two of the three par-5s," said Janie Jackson after carding a
2-under-par 69 to finish in third place. "It was an overall good day. I
made a bunch of pars and I was hitting good approach shots and one-putting a
lot of them.”
Cleveland Junior Open
“I finally got some putts to fall today and helped me to
shoot a 3-under-par 69,” said Andrew Fogg after earning a runner-up finish. “I
was pretty happy with my round. I hit the ball well so it was nice to finally
see it turn out. It’s a tough course, only two red numbers all week.”
“I actually played really good today
and my iron shots were amazing,” said Pei Chun Chen of her 2-under-par 70 and second-place finish. “I
just couldn’t make a putt, that’s it. I tried not to think too much about
finishing in the top three, I was just trying to get the head cover!”
Nemacolin Junior Classic
"I started off with birdies on my first
two holes which gave me a lot of confidence going in,” said Boys Division
champion, Nicholas Scott. “I felt pretty good about my swing and my game."
"I hit eight greens on the front and six or seven on the back
so those moments really helped me shoot a 71 today,” said Connor Tendall after
his 1-under-par round.
“I
was driving the ball well off the tee,” said Brian Starker, who
finished three shots back of Scott. “I hit about 13 or 14 fairways. I also made
a double on the third hole but was able to birdie No. 4 so that was nice to
cruise in from there."
"After I bogeyed the second hole I birdied the third and
fifth hole,” said Juliet Vongphoumy, who posted a 1-under-par 71 to claim her
first AJGA title. “On No. 3 my putt was uphill about 10 feet and made it. On No. 5 my second shot was in the rough, but I hit my next shot within 10 feet. It
was good after I had a bad hole to bounce back."
