Lexi Thompson claimed her first professional victory at the Navistar LPGA Classic.

Alexis Thompson of Coral Springs, Fla., finished five strokes ahead of the competition Sunday to claim her first professional victory at the Navistar LPGA Classic presented by Monaco RV in Prattville, Ala. Thompson, a three-time Rolex Junior All-American, carded rounds of 66-68-67-70 to finish at 17-under-par.

Thompson’s junior career featured four AJGA victories, including her lone Invitational win at the 2009 Polo Golf Junior Classic. She set the record for youngest player to ever qualify for a U.S. Women’s Open at 12 years, four months, and one day in 2007.

With her win, she becomes the youngest player to ever win an LPGA event at 16 years, seven months, and eight days, shattering Paula Creamer’s record. Creamer was 18 when she earned her first victory.
