Several AJGA alumni were recently named to the 2012 Curtis
Cup team, which will be played at The Nairn Golf Club in Scotland, June 8 – 10.
AJGA alumni named to the team include Lindy Duncan of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.,
Austin Ernst of Seneca, S.C., Tiffany Lua of Rowland Heights, Calif., and
Brooke Pancake of Chattanooga, Tenn.
Duncan, a junior at Duke, was a three-time Rolex Junior All-American
as a junior golfer and had one win in her AJGA career. She was a semifinalist
at the 2006 U.S. Women’s Amateur at the age of 15, and finished as the
second-lowest amateur at the 2011 Women’s Open.
Austin Ernst is a sophomore at LSU where she became the
first freshman in 13 years to win the individual title at the NCAA DI
Championship. Ernst, who served as a player representative on the AJGA Board of
Directors during her junior year of high school, was a two-time Rolex Junior
All-American.
Lua, a junior at UCLA, will return for her second Curtis
Cup. A four-time Rolex Junior All-American, Lua claimed two AJGA titles in her
junior golf career and was a member of the 2009 victorious U.S. PING Junior
Solheim Cup team.
Pancake, a senior at the University of Alabama, advanced to
the semifinals of the 2011 U.S. Women’s Amateur and Is a three-time NGCA
All-American Scholar. As a junior, she notched nine top-10 finishes in AJGA
competition.
