Jackson qualifies for LPGA event

High school senior and University of Arizona-bound Janie Jackson is set to compete in her second LPGA event at this week’s Mobile Bay LPGA Classic, April 26-29. Jackson survived a three-hole sudden-death playoff to claim the final spot in the field. She also played in last year’s Navistar LPGA Classic in Prattville, Ala.

In 2011, Jackson carded four top-five finishes with her best showings at the AJGA Franklin Junior and AJGA Huntsville Junior, both times finishing second.  Throughout her AJGA career Jackson has compiled 11 top-five finishes. She reached the Round of 32 at the 2011 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship and is currently ranked No. 86 in the Polo Golf Rankings. The 2012 graduate has notched two AJGA victories during her junior career and has committed to the University of Arizona.
