The Byron Nelson International Junior Golf Awards
will be presented to three AJGA players, the Salesmanship Club of Dallas
announced Thursday. Cody Proveaux of Leesville, S.C., Matthew NeSmith of North Augusta, S.C., and Wyndham Clark of Greenwood Village, Colo., will be recognized at
the HP Byron Nelson Championship and Awards Dinner presented by American
Airlines on Saturday, May 19, at TPC Four Seasons.
Ricky
Kato of Australia is the fourth player that will be honored based on not only
golfing skill, but academic success and significant community involvement.
The
awards began in 2008 and all 15 past recipients are AJGA alumni, including
two-time HP Scholastic Junior All-American Brinson
Paolini (2009) and Rolex Junior Players of the Year Cameron Peck (2009) and Jordan
Spieth (2010).
Cody Proveaux
Proveaux
is the reigning Rolex Junior Player of the Year and has signed a National
Letter of Intent with Clemson. Currently No. 4 in the Polo Golf Rankings, he
was a member of the AJGA’s Leadership Links program in 2011 and helped raise
money through fundraisers like Birdies for Bradley and the Dormie Cup (pictured above).

Matthew NeSmith
NeSmith
is the second-ranked player in the Polo Golf Rankings and has signed a National
Letter of Intent with South Carolina. In 2011, he won the Polo Golf Junior
Classic and the Jones Cup Junior Invitational, and was also the only player to
record a perfect 4-0-0 record at Wyndham Cup.

Wyndham Clark
Clark is a two-time Rolex Junior All-American and has 11 career AJGA top 10s, including a win at the 2010 Under Armour® / Vicky Hurst Championship. He is currently No. 24 in the Polo Golf Rankings and has signed a National Letter of Intent with Oklahoma State.
