While running 94
junior golf events over the course of the year, the AJGA staff also works to
maintain a healthy lifestyle through the AJGA Health Wise: Wellness For Life Program.
Starting February 27, 52 AJGA staffers committed to a 10-week program and took
strides toward healthy habits.
As a
celebration of the 2012 Wellness Program, the inaugural AJGA Wellness 5K
Classic took off at 8 a.m. prior to the start of Staff Appreciation Day. Thirty-one
Wellness participants crossed the finish line marking the end of AJGA Wellness.
Riley Tracy (Director of Tournament Administration) recorded the fastest time
in the men’s division, while Denae Olberding (Media Relations Coordinator) took
the top prize in the women’s division. See what the AJGA staff had to say about
their participation in the 2012 AJGA Wellness Program.
"It is great
to work for a company that cares about you, gives you incentives to care about
your own health, and creates a fun and competitive atmosphere to celebrate it
in.”
- Andrew LeSaicherre,
Tournament Coordinator
“Wellness is
awesome because it provides the motivation for me to exercise and with four
kids at home my exercise time is not existent, so I utilize my lunch hour to
run. It means a lot to train for something and have it pay off in the end and
hopefully that motivation to train and exercise during lunch will continue
throughout the summer!”
- Riley Tracy, Director
of Tournament Administration
“We had a great
turn out and I think everyone had a good time. The weather was perfect for and
I am very excited to work on this again next year.”
- James Thompson,
Purchasing Coordinator and AJGA Wellness 5K Classic Race Director
Although the
10-week period is over, many AJGA staffers will continue the habits formed
during Wellness throughout the course of the year.
