European Tour
Peter
Uihlein made headlines on the European
Tour as he fired a 12-under-par 60 in the second round of the Alfred Dunhill
Links Championship. Uihlein, who came close to becoming the first player to
shoot a 59 on the European Tour, carded eight birdies and two eagles during the
round. He ultimately lost in a two-hole playoff to David Howell, finishing in
second at 23-under-par 265.
A four-time Rolex Junior All-American, Uihlein recorded six
career AJGA victories including the 2007 FJ Invitational and was named Rolex
Junior Player of the Year in both 2005 and 2007. He posted top Invitational finishes
including the 2005 HP Boys Junior Championship (4th), 2005
Thunderbird International Junior (3rd) and the 2006 Rolex Tournament
of Champions where he finished runner-up. A 2008 high school graduate, Uihlein
went on to win the 2010 U.S. Amateur Championship.
Uihlein’s collegiate career at Oklahoma State University was
highlighted by runner-up finishes at the Big 12 Championship and NCAA
Championship during his sophomore season. In 2009, he represented the United
States in the Walker Cup, posting a 4-0 record on the victorious U.S. squad.
After winning the Ben Hogan Award during his junior year, he turned
professional in December 2011.
Chesson Hadley
closed with a 1-under-par 69 for a two-shot victory at the Web.com Tour
Championship. Hadley finished at 10-under-par 270 on the TPC Sawgrass Dye’s
Valley Course.
During his AJGA career, Hadley recorded six top-15 finishes
including victories at the Hargray Junior Classic and Golf Pride Junior
Classic, both in 2005. The two-time Rolex Junior All-American appeared in the
quarterfinals of the 2005 Polo Golf Junior Classic, losing to Philip Francis, 2
and 1.
He competed for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets where he
totaled 11 top-10 finishes and two victories during his career.
John Peterson
finished two shots behind Hadley in a tie for second to win the Web.Com Finals
money title. His place at the top of the list guarantees him full status on the
PGA TOUR next year and a spot in The Players Championship.
A 2007 Rolex Junior All-American, Peterson tallied eight
top-15 showings highlighted by a victory at the 2007 Fidelity Investments
Junior Championship and a T8 finish at the 2006 HP Boys Junior Championship (HP
Boys Championship at Carlton Woods).
Peterson went on to compete at LSU where he was a three-time
All-American and crowned the 2011 NCAA Individual Champion. His collegiate
career included two tournament victories and 12 top-five finishes.
