Webb Simpson captured his first victory since the
2012 U.S. Open, winning the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open by six strokes
after closing with a final-round 5-under-par 66. He finished at 24-under-par
260 after opening rounds of 64, 63 and 67 for his fourth career PGA TOUR win.
During his AJGA career, Simpson was a
four-time Rolex Junior All-America First Team honoree. His biggest win came at
the 2001 Rolex Tournament of Champions, and he totaled 16 top-10 finishes
during his AJGA career. Simpson represented the East Team at the 2001, 2002 and
2004 Wyndham Cup.
Following his AJGA career, Simpson
played golf at Wake Forest. During his time there he was named 2005 ACC
Freshman of the Year, 2008 ACC Player of the Year and represented the United
States at the 2006 World Amateur Team Championship.
