Weekend wrap-up (October 21)

Russell Henley claimed his second Web.com Tour victory of the year at the Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open Presented by Planters, beating B.J. Staten with a par on the first playoff hole. Henley birdied the final hole to match Staten at 5-under-par 65 for a tournament total of 10-under-par 270.

This win marks his third professional victory. Henley survived a three-way playoff to win the Chiquita Classic in September. In 2011, he won the Stadion Classic at UGA, becoming only the second amateur to win on the Web.com Tour following Daniel Summerhays who won at the 2007 Nationwide Children’s Hospital Invitational.

Henley competed in three AJGA events during his junior career, including the 2006 FJ Invitational. His AJGA career was highlighted by a T4 finish at the 2006 Golf Pride Junior Classic. He won two Georgia Amateur titles (2008 and 2009), finished fourth at the 2010 Porter Cup and posted a seventh-place finish at the 2010 Southern Amateur. Henley found success at the University of Georgia, where he matched the school record for college wins (seven) and received the 2010 Haskins Awards during his junior season.
