PGA TOUR
Brendon Todd captured
his first career PGA TOUR victory over the weekend after finishing with a 14-under-par
266 to
win
the HP Byron Nelson Championship. He used a final-round 4-under-par 66 to
finish two strokes ahead of fellow AJGA alum
Mike Weir.
Todd competed in AJGA tournaments from 1999-2003 and won the
2003 Rolex Tournament of Champions. He amassed six top-three finishes, earning Rolex
Junior All-America honors from 2001-03.
Prior to his professional career, Todd played collegiately
for two years at the University of Georgia. He was named an honorable mention
All-American as a freshman and second-team All-American as a sophomore by PING
and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). In his second season, Todd
led the Bulldogs to the 2005 NCAA title.
In his PGA TOUR debut, reigning Rolex Junior Player of the
Year Scott Scheffler of Dallas finished
with a 4-under-par 276 to tie for 22nd at the HP Byron Nelson
Championship. The current No. 1 player in the Polo Golf Rankings also had a
hole-in-one on No. 2 during the third round.
Scheffler is a two-time first-team Rolex Junior All-American
and has signed a National Letter of Intent with the University of Texas.
LPGA TOUR
From 2005-07 Salas played in 15 AJGA tournaments and had
nine top-10 finishes. In 2006, Salas was named a second-team Rolex Junior
All-American.
Before beginning her professional career, Salas played at
the University of Southern California where she became USC’s first four-time
All-American from 2007-11.

Max Homa claimed
his first professional win at the BMW Charity Pro-Am Presented by SYNNEX
Corporation over the weekend with a 20-under-par 266. He used an 8-under-par 63
to seal the victory over former AJGA golfer,
Jonathan Randolph.
Homa played in 13 AJGA tournaments from 2006-09, finishing
in the top-six in five. After his junior career, he went on to play at
University of California, Berkeley where he became the school’s first NCAA
individual medalist as a senior in 2013.

Casey
Grice finished third with a 3-under-par 213 while alum
Alice H. Kim tied
for sixth with a 1-under-par 215.
Grice participated in AJGA tournaments from 2006-10 and had
13 top-10 finishes. She won the 2007 Junior All-Star at Aspen and the 2009 Colorado
Junior at Flying Horse. After her five-year career with the AJGA, Grice played
on North Carolina’s women’s golf team. Following her collegiate career, Grice
made her debut on the LPGA Tour in April 2013 at the inaugural North Texas LPGA
Shootout.
Kim played in six AJGA tournaments from 2006-07, four of
which were top-10 finishes. She continued her career at the collegiate level at
the University of California-Davis, before turning professional in 2012.
