Gary Gilchrist, founder and head coach of the Gary Gilchrist
Golf Academy, was named one of
GOLF
Magazine’s Top 100 Teachers in America. The national publication
selects only the 100 most elite teachers in the industry to receive the
distinguished award.
“It is quite an honor to be
recognized as one of GOLF Magazine’s
Top 100 Teachers in America,” Gilchrist said in a press release from the Gary
Gilchrist Golf Academy. “My students and our coaching staff have played a big
role in where I am today, helping to shape not only the Academy, but me as a
teacher as well. We have all worked very hard, and this honor proves that we’re
continuing to be successful.”
With a career that spans 20
years, Gilchrist has coached more than 75 Rolex Junior All-Americans and six
Rolex Junior Players of the Year. He currently coaches Morgan Hoffman, Peter Hanson and Vicky Hurst, as well as Yani Tseng and Shanshan Feng, the Nos. 1
and 6 ranked females in the world respectively.
At the Junior All-Star
Invitational in October, Gilchrist hosted a junior clinic for the field where
he addressed the mental aspects of golf, shared his personal journey with the
game and demonstrated practice techniques.
