Three things for Thursday at #PoloGolfJC

  • In the Polo Golf Junior Classic, there will almost always be a top-ranked player standing between you and the championship. Kelsey Zeng knows this more than most, as she has already knocked out two First-Team Rolex Junior All-Americans on her route to the quarterfinals. Up next for Zeng is Emilee Hoffman at 8:30 a.m.
  • Both No. 31 seeds have earned their way their way into the quarterfinals fighting off some of the top seeds. John Pak defeated No. 2 seed Won Jun Lee in 19 holes in the Round of 32 and Wilson Furr, 6 and 5, in the Round of 16. In the Girls Division, Kelsey Zeng defeated Andrea Lee 1-up in the Round of 32 and Angel Yin, 2 and 1, in the Round of 16.
  • Cooper Dossey defeated reigning champion Spencer Soosman in the Round of 16, but Sierra Brooks still has hopes of repeating as Polo Golf Junior Classic champion. Emilee Klein won in 1990 and 1991, and she's the last player to successfully defend her title. Thursday morning, Brooks will take on the newly elected AJGA Player Representative Kaitlyn Papp.
