Tiger Woods won the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by
MasterCard with a 13-under-par total to claim his eighth win at Bay Hill and
third win of the season. Woods carded a final-round 2-under-par 70 for a
two-shot victory,
which moved him to No. 1 in the world for the first time
since October 2010.
Bay Hill hosted the AJGA HP Boys
Championship from 2004-2008. In 2006, Rickie Fowler won with a 10-under-par
total, and as a professional seven years later, he returned to Bay Hill and played
in the final group with Woods en route to an 8-under-par total and a
third-place finish.
Woods played in 13 and won eight AJGA
tournaments from 1991-1993, which ties him for second most AJGA career wins and
earned him the title of Rolex Junior Player of the Year in 1991-1992. Woods
appeared in the Wyndham Cup from 1990-1993 as a member of the West Team and
posted a record of 11-3-2, the best of any boy in the tournament’s history.
Before beginning his professional
career, Woods spent two years at Stanford, where he was a two-time first-team
All-American. In 1996 he was the NCAA individual champion, the Jack Nicklaus
Player of the Year, the Pac-10 conference champion and Pac-10 Player of the
Year.

A four-time All-American at
Oklahoma State University, Loar won five collegiate tournaments and was part of
the NCAA Division I Championship squad in 2000.
