TPC Sawgrass has hosted The Junior Players Championship presented by TaylorMade-adidas Golf since its inception in 2008. The event will take a brief hiatus in 2016 while the PLAYERS Stadium course is renovated but will return in 2017. Alumni from the event have moved on from the AJGA to compete at the highest level in college and professional golf, with many playing TPC Sawgrass as a junior and professional golfer.

The event annually offers a PGA TOUR experience from players sharing a locker with the most recent player who used it during the PLAYERS Championship, to media training with PGA TOUR staff, to championship course setup with yardages, hole locations and caddies used during the professional event.
